Frequently Asked Questions

Is the app secure? Who can see my journal?

Your journal entries are stored in your personal iCloud account, which only you can access. We use Supabase for sign-in (email and password), but your journal content never leaves Apple’s infrastructure. We don’t read, share, or sell your data.

What happens if I delete the app?

Your journal is saved to iCloud automatically. If you delete and reinstall the app, your entries come back as soon as you sign in — including signatures and stamps. Remember that your state sets how long notarial records must be kept, so removing the app does not end your retention obligation.

Does the app replace my notary commission or legal responsibility?

No. My Notary Book is a record-keeping tool. You are still solely responsible for understanding and complying with your state’s notary laws. Always verify that electronic journals are permitted in your state before using the app for official records — you can check your own jurisdiction in our 51-state Notary Rules reference.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

From the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password." You’ll receive an email with a reset link. Tap the link from your device (not a desktop) to reset directly in the app.
